EN: The second multiplier event in Portugal was organized to showcase and disseminate the results of the IBIMD project, particularly focusing on the pilot course in Building Information Modelling and Digitalization. Held at the University of Coimbra, the event featured a comprehensive agenda aimed at highlighting the advancements and applications of BIM within the Portuguese construction industry. The event kicked off with an opening session, followed by a presentation from the University of Coimbra about the IBIMD project. This introduction set the stage by outlining the project's scope and achievements, particularly emphasizing the development and translation of the course manual and guidance materials, as well as the implementation of the pilot course that trained over 100 digitalization ambassadors.

Following the project overview, there was a focused discussion on the role of BIM in training professionals, led by another representative from the University of Coimbra. This presentation addressed how BIM is integrated into professional training programs and its significance in enhancing the skills of future AEC professionals. TEIXEIRA DUARTE Engenharia e Construções then shared insights into the practical implementation of BIM on construction sites. This session provided real-world examples of BIM in action, illustrating the benefits and challenges encountered during its application in large-scale projects.

After a networking coffee break, the event resumed with a session from WALLNUT Design + Build on the transition from point clouds to augmented reality. This innovative topic highlighted the cutting-edge technology being incorporated into BIM processes, enhancing visualization and project management. LPC LATINA presented on BIM and Digital Twins, discussing how these technologies are converging to create more dynamic and responsive building models. This session emphasized the future direction of BIM technologies and their potential to revolutionize the construction industry. STRATBIM discussed the legal requirements for BIM implementation in Portugal, providing an essential overview of the regulatory landscape and its implications for professionals and companies in the construction sector.

The event concluded with a closing session that wrapped up the discussions and reinforced the importance of continued collaboration and innovation in the field of digitalization and BIM.

The target audience for this event included academic professionals, industry practitioners, regulatory bodies, and technology providers, ensuring a rich dialogue and exchange of ideas among stakeholders deeply involved in the digital transformation of construction.

The outcomes of the event were overwhelmingly positive, with participants gaining a deeper understanding of the IBIMD project's goals, the practical applications of BIM, and the ongoing developments in digital construction methodologies. The event successfully facilitated knowledge sharing, encouraged network building, and highlighted the collaborative efforts needed to advance BIM adoption in Portugal.

The event was implemented as planned, with all sessions conducted as scheduled. The seamless execution of the agenda ensured that the event met its objectives effectively, promoting the dissemination of the IBIMD project's results and fostering a collaborative approach to BIM implementation in the Portuguese construction industry.
